Anonymous asked: Hi! I just wanted to say that I really loved your blog, but I also wanted to point something out-The thing is, men and women ARE wired differently- biologically, atleast- for example, women are generally more prone to crying because their hypothalamus is more active, so on. That does not mean that any one gender is "better" or whatever, but they're still different?! I'm not showing any hate, but i just wanted to point that out....~Lots of Love :)

Well firstly, thank you :], and secondly since you seem like you mean well, I’ll try my best to be nice to help you understand.

I do admit, I don’t have any sources to back me up, but first off, gender is not black and white ‘male and female.’ It’s not. Gender is an incredibly fluid thing, so knowing that, it kind of already immediately clashes with the idea that the male and female brains are wired differently. How can they be if the individual is deemed female at birth but is actually male? Or the other way around? Or if somebody chooses not to identify with a gender at all? That shows to me, that our brains are all wired the same, if that kind of fluidity can happen in the first place at all.

If any differences are to be had, it’s in our upbringing and our conditioning. Males are raised to act like males and females are raised to act like females, and heaven forbid if you choose to act any differently or feel as if you aren’t actually the gender the doctor deemed you were the moment you were born. I say, women are generally more prone to crying because women are raised from the second of birth by both their families and by society to be okay with their emotions and to embrace them, so if you wanted to cry, crying is okay. And in my humble opinion.. any studies or facts of science that say it’s because the brain is wired differently is searching for an excuse.

There is much more detail involved in this that I really can’t think of right now or have the time to look up - I leave for work in 20 minutes and shit with my wrist is a pretty big deal so I have no idea how long I’ll be there today or what to do about it at all - but that’s the general idea, and seems a far more likely scenario than a simple brushing off of there being a ‘male brain’ and ‘female brain’.

And, I hope I didn’t come off as mean to you at all. I wasn’t trying to be. If I did, it was my passion on the topic and the pain in my wrist coming out. #sheepish

I don’t know if you guys saw the episode of Kitchen Nightmares, or if you’ve seen anything from their facebook meltdowns. But Amy’s Baking Company in Scottsdale, Arizona openly admitted to stealing their servers tips! So if you could please publish this, it’s a link to a petition to get them investigated by the US Department of Labor, and hopefully the resulting legal action will ensure that everyone who worked there gets compensation for the lost tips.
Not only do they steal tips from the servers, they are verbally abusive to their staff and customers. This was all shown on the Kitchen Nightmares episode, as well as many reviews from people who’ve eaten there. I’m sorry that this isn’t exactly a Robin, but I’m hoping that if you guys publish it, it’ll get the remaining signatures it needs (which is about 800 more at the time of submitting).
Ramsay talked to a former waitress there, and the waitress said she’d seen 50 people come and go in her year and a half there. The husband admitted that it was more. So please, Robins, let’s help the Robins who suffered at the hands of Amy’s Baking Company hopefully get back the tips that are rightfully theirs!

[I also don’t know what to tag this as, but considering the verbal abuse I’m using the trigger and violence tags.]

YOU LITTLE PUNKS REALLY NEED TO FUCK OFF FOR ONCE. NEVER HAVE I OR MY HUSBAND STOLEN TIPS FROM OUR SERVERS. YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.  YOU KNOW WHY DON’T YOU HAVE A CUPCAKE? YOU’RE TOO BUSY WASTING YOUR LIFE AWAY ON TUMBLR NOT HAVING A REAL JOB. BIG WOW KIDDO. I’LL BE SURE TO ALERT THE POLICE AND FBI COMPUTER CRIME UNIT OF THIS BLOG AND HAVE IT REMOVED. HAVE A FUCKING GOOD DAY.

I’M CRYING BECAUSE I JUST REVERSE IMAGE SEARCHED THE PICTURE SHE POSTED OF A PIZZA THAT SHE CLAIMED SHE MADE AND IT WAS FROM THIS RESTAURANT

She did the same with photos of cupcakes!!

This woman is clearly unbalanced.

Suppose a man makes unwanted social advances to a woman in, let’s say, a restaurant or theatre, and she eventually has to tell him loudly or angrily to get lost. She is the one who will be perceived as rude, hostile, aggressive, and obnoxious. His verbal aggression and invasiveness are accepted and expected; her rudeness (or mere curtness) in getting rid of him is noticed and condemned. One of our great myths is that a “real lady” can and should handle any difficulty, defuse any assault, without ever raising her voice or losing her manners. Female rudeness or violence in resistance to male aggression has often been taken to prove that the woman was not a lady in the first place, and therefore deserved no respect from the aggressor or sympathy from others.

I triggered what seems to be tendonitis in my dominant hand at work.

(I still don’t know what it is because none of the worker’s comp. doctors have told me.)

It’s been a few weeks now and the pain hasn’t gone away one bit, even with resting it during pre-requested time off work (for Destin’s visit, remember).

I have to wear a brace that looks like this.

Icing it looks like this.

I’m on physical therapy with exercises three times a day and appointments three times a week.

I take pain meds and a strong icy-hot roll-on four times a day.

I have two other braces for it depending on the severity of the pain and how much I intend to use my hand. Since it is my dominant side.

And I’m still on fucking REGULAR DUTY at work.

Regular duty, fitting room. With the shit that triggered this in the first place.

I CAN’T WAIT.
