Hi there! This is me, as of my birthday last June, and is the picture my icon is from.

I will refrain from stating too much about myself here, otherwise the point of blogging as a form of expression would be quite moot. :3

My name is Jennifer, but I prefer to be called Jen.

I’m 22 years old, and my birthday is June 13th, 1990.

I’m a fresh graduate from Penn State University.

It has been one year and counting since I fell for my Destin, the love of my life. ♥

I’m a giant nerd (or geek, if you prefer; I call myself both). It’s pretty much what my life revolves around, and I wouldn’t change my lifestyle for the world. It’s led me to some of the most beautiful people and hobbies I’ve ever known to exist (which may or may not be traditionally geeky interests), and it’s something I’m very proud of.

When it comes to Tumblr, I love love LOVE the pictures, the humor, and the sense of community. I used to keep a blog before, but I NEVER received the love, messages or compliments I get now. It’s so unreal, with so many strangers liking what I write and post. But it’s given me such a huge boost in confidence and such an increased sense of loving life, it isn’t even funny.

The atmosphere here has won my heart over so much, that I actually had the idea to create an inspirational photoblog called Reasons to Love Being Alive. It has been running since early October 2011, and the lives it has changed, the love and support I’ve received, and how much it has changed my *own* life has been absolutely unbelievable. I never once expected it to become as loved and popular as it is today, not only in other peoples’ lives, but in my own as well. It has become an absolutely irreplaceable part of what I do for fun and fulfillment.

It really is hard to beat the feeling of having an outlet - that hundreds of people actively visit! - to share the countless beautiful pictures I’ve found, thoughts I’ve had, and important issues I feel strongly about since joining Tumblr. Knowing that what you do helps make people feel happier, better about their lives, and even possibly more educated on a daily basis is just.. mindboggling. Absolutely mindboggling.

And that’s not even to mention the incredibly beautiful people I’ve met and friends I’ve made since being here. <3

I believe in absolute selflessness, in spreading happiness and love, in making other peoples’ days absolutely wonderful even if I am unable to do the same for my own. With what I post, what I write, how I communicate.. I always hope I’m able to put a smile on your face, no matter what kind of a day you may be having. Yes, you. I always hope I make your day a little bit better. <3

And I hope I’m able to spread that outlook and attitude to as many people as I can.

The world could use as many beautiful people as possible. ♥
